A Few Questions with Algorithm & Blues: A Dating Sketch Show Actor Christine Eide

Algorithm & Blues: A Dating Sketch Show opens March 4th, 2022! This show will be an uproarious evening poking fun at the trials and tribulations of modern dating, featuring live music, bad date stories, and dancing Yentas!

We reached out to Christine with a few questions about herself and her experience working on this production.

1. Share your best or worst date experience!

The worst:   It's a long story, but the Reader's Digest version is I fell out of a boat, face first into a scuzzy pond (nothing but grace, I know...)  After showering and putting on dude's basketball shorts and a t-shirt while I waited for my clothes to dry, he tells me all about a recurring nightmare he has in which he sees babies staked to the ceiling....needless to say, as soon as the dryer buzzer went off, I was looking for my keys!

2. Do you relate to any of your characters or to any character in the show? How similar / different are you?

Though we may be different in age, I can certainly relate to Harriet in the last sketch, because I also think that I hear completely random things that no one actually said, which often leads me to ask questions that make no sense at all.

3. What are your go-to first date (or date night) plans?

I like to get up and moving on a first date so we can get the blood flowing and release some nervousness.  Keeping that in mind, I once suggested a trampoline park for a first date and it was so much fun!  (I mean, I did face plant while I was trying to do a flip, but whateve's!)

4. How did you get into theatre?

I was terribly shy and ZERO interest in being on stage in front of people.  However, Mrs. Shumate, my theatre teacher in high school, had other plans for me :)

5. What's your favorite type of apple?

A perfectly ripe one that has just fallen from the tree and I stumble upon it while going for a walk in the woods (Hey, a girl can dream...)
